St Thom's celebrates 100 years

Yesterday, Sunday 2 July 2006,
St Thomas's Anglican Church at Upper Ferntree Gully
celebrated its 100th birthday.

The celebration was a wonderful mix of formality and informality.
All those white shirts in the pews on the left belonged to Singularity,
a local choir who performed magnificently.
Miss Eagle particularly enjoyed their rendition of Vivaldi's Gloria.

Of course, we had a Bishop (in full regalia) present to kick it along:

Bishop Stephen Hale, Bishop of the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Susanne, our priest, presided over a beautiful event which
brought together young and old: those who have long memories
and contributions to St Thom's and those who are just embarking
on their journey with us.
