A female bishop for the national capital?
Bishop George Browning of the Anglican Diocese of Canberra-Goulburn has asked that, when his successor is appointed in three years time, consideration be given to a female candidate. Bishop George's diocese is something of a broad church where, traditionally, neither Evangelical nor Anglo-Catholic traditions have dominated but lived in peaceful co-existence. But a female bishop right next door to the Evangelical Diocese of Sydney where they won't ordain a female priest, let alone consecrate a female bishop.? In-ter-est-ing!!!
