I was sickened by the photos of Bush's visit to New Orleans. Too late - and too many platitudes and little or no aid preceded it.
Of interest are some of the articles on the background, neglect, and lack of financial investment which contributed to the disaster that is New Orleans. Go to the New York Times and look at Paul Krugman's article. At Slate, there is Ari Kellerman's article following on from his book. He is the author of A River and Its City: The Nature of Landscape in New Orleans.
