The Court of Appeal in the United Kingdom has to-day
dismissed a Home Office appeal against the granting of citizenship to David Hicks. Miss Eagle has written about Hicks's situation
here,
here, and
here. The Home office has still two further opportunities of appeal. The first is an appeal to the House of Lords which requires the approval of the Court of Appeal to proceed. If this appeal fails, the Home Office may choose to petition directly the House of Lords. So David Hicks remains in limbo in respect of being granted British citizenship and being removed from the possibility of being sent before the kangaroo court known as a military commission.
